Veronica Adane (ቬሮኒካ አዳነ) is the Ethiopian vocalist and composer behind two East African duets with Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Rayvanny that hit YouTube in the first week of October 2026: ማራኪ (Maraki) on 5 October and ቢሮኒካ (Bironica) on 7 October. Bironica‘s Official Video, posted on her own channel, had already passed 1.7 million views by the morning of 12 October. This profile sticks to the public record: her official website and press kit, her YouTube channel, Apple Music and distributor metadata, the 9th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) winners list, and ethio.music’s own wire notes. Where a claim appears only on her site and is not independently confirmed, we label it as such.
Who the public record names. Her official press bio on veronicaadane.com/press says she was born in Addis Ababa and draws on Ethiopian Azmari improvisational vocal tradition, synthesizing pentatonic scales with contemporary production. The site’s About page names her as the daughter of master artist Adane Teka and describes that lineage as formative; we report that as the artist’s own published biography, not as independently verified genealogy. Booking and press contact on the site is [email protected]. Management is listed there as Global Afropop Agency. Apple Music files her under Worldwide / African and lists artist ID 1560065765.
The official channel. The artist channel is @Veronica_Adane (channel ID UCfpttsgc_FkvxZrI8_wuuCA). Its About panel says it joined YouTube on 1 April 2020. On 12 October 2026 the channel showed 442K subscribers, 60,805,269 lifetime views and on the order of 48 videos. ethio.music classifies uploads on this channel as Official when they are labeled Official Video / Official Music Video and carry ©Veronica Adane (or equivalent rights language). A separate Veronica Adane VEVO-style channel also appears in YouTube listings; this profile cites the main artist channel above for playback.
Early Nahom singles. The earliest Apple Music singles under her name carry ℗ Nahom Records Inc:
- Tewu — single, released 19 March 2021
- Tefet Alegn — single, 24 September 2021
- Kurfya — single, 17 June 2022
- Abebaye — single, 5 May 2023
- Enaney — single, 17 November 2023
Those titles also appear on Nahom Favorites compilation volumes, which is consistent with a distributor relationship rather than a claim that every upload sits only on her channel.
Meteriyaye (2024) and AFRIMA. Her album Meteriyaye (መጠሪያዬ) was released 30 August 2024 under ℗ 2024 Zojak World Wide (Apple Music). It is a 12-track set: Menlehun, Tenager, Kante Lela, Meteriyaye, Gone Der, Lemen Wey, Senegenagn, Nakupenda, Kedemenaw, Kemalema, Selam and Amesgagn. Apple Music tags the album African. Artist-channel Official Videos from the album cycle include Meteriyaye (published 29 August 2024; about 4.76 million views on 12 October), Tenager (5 September 2024; about 2.95 million), Kedemenaw (27 September 2024; about 2.43 million) and ካንተ ሌላ — Kante Lela (Official Music Video, 24 October 2024; about 16.3 million). A live companion, Meteriyaye Album Live Performance, is dated 8 March 2025 on Apple Music.
At the 9th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), held in Lagos and reported on 12 January 2026, Veronica Adane won Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Traditional for Kante Lela (Ethiopia). That win is on the published AFRIMA winners list covered by Showbiz Afrika; her own awards page also lists it. Her site additionally claims Zikomo Africa Awards honors; those are not independently confirmed in the sources we checked for this profile, so they are left out of the body count narrative beyond this note that the site claims them.
The Rayvanny week (October 2026). Two separate duets landed within 48 hours:
- ማራኪ (Maraki) — Official Video on the EnQu Multimedia distributor channel, published 5 October 2026 (about 96,800 views on 12 October). The upload bills it as “New Ethiopian Tanzanian” music and tags Rayvanny’s label WCB Wasafi. ethio.music classifies it as Likely (Official Video on a distributor channel, not the artist’s own). Wired as News 328.
- ቢሮኒካ (Bironica) — Official Video on her own channel, published 7 October 2026, description ©2026 Veronica Adane. By 12 October it showed about 1,745,900 views. Apple Music carries Bironica – Single by Veronica Adane & Rayvanny, released 8 October 2026, ℗ 2026 Veronica Adane, genre African (track length about 3:27). ethio.music classifies the video as Official. Wired as News 332. Peak Stan reported on 8 October that the video had appeared on YouTube trending music lists in several countries including the United Kingdom, UAE, Lebanon, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Canada.
Sound and lane (source-tagged only). We do not invent a review. Her official site describes her work as rooted in Ethiopian pentatonic scales and Azmari vocal technique, framed for contemporary / cinematic production. Apple Music’s African / Worldwide tags and AFRIMA’s African Traditional category for Kante Lela place the catalog in a heritage-to-contemporary lane. The Rayvanny features add an explicit East African pop / Bongo Flava crossover on the 2026 singles. Playback on ethio.music uses only the artist-channel and EnQu Multimedia Official Videos cited below — never unofficial reuploads.
For the Official Video desk this week, Veronica Adane is the clearest Ethiopian artist without a prior ethio.music profile: an established catalog artist (Nahom singles from 2021, a 2024 Zojak album, an AFRIMA Traditional win) whose own-channel Bironica duet with Rayvanny is the standout new Official upload of the past week by view scale.
