Madingo Afework’s official YouTube channel released Ashara (አሻራ), a nine-song album, on Oct 30, 2026, posting an official lyric video for each track within 14 minutes. It comes four days after the channel’s trailer and four years after the singer’s death in September 2022, and Apple Music now lists the album with an Oct 31 date.

In order: Astemriw Liben, Yehilina Dagnetshn, Beyilugnta, Dire, Yeselamtaye, Altenkuakuam Bere, Amalay, Sinedegn Sinedegn and Enat.
Credits
Fanta Wechefa is credited with the melody and lyrics of five songs and the melody of Amalay, whose lyrics are by Yilma Gebreab. Abudi wrote the melody of Beyilugnta, Abebe Berhane wrote Altenkuakuam Bere, and Mekonnen Lema (Doctre) wrote, arranged and mixed Sinedegn Sinedegn. Michael Hailu and Addis Fikadu share the other arrangements, Zerihun Belete plays saxophone on two songs, and Kibret Zekios mastered every track. Distribution is credited to Geez Creative.
In September The Reporter named Fanta Wechefa, Yilma Gebreab, Abebe Berhane and Mekonnen Lema as the songwriters of the singer’s posthumous album, which it said would have 11 to 12 songs. The channel does not explain the difference.
