Methodology v1 — freeze recommendations

Status: Ready for Elias approval; 2026-09-20. No real freeze URL until approval and the Official URL audit are complete.

Launch boards

1. Official Video Chart — Amharic Secular (weekly)
2. Official Video Chart — Amharic Gospel (weekly)
3. New Releases (weekly list, not ranked by views)

Afaan Oromo and Tigrigna are month-2 boards. Phase 2 follows Mereja/Tewnet citation. Do not launch one mixed all-language, all-genre No. 1.

Timezone

Chart week = Africa/Addis_Ababa, Sunday 00:00–Saturday 23:59. Publish stamp also shows America/New_York for Elias operations.

Eligibility

• Official or Likely official only for ranked charts.
• Fan / Contested: register OK, chart no.
• Primary artist Ethiopian-identifying or release marketed as Ethiopian music; exclude non-Ethiopian titles on ET YouTube.
• One primary official URL; artist/label channel preferred.

Scoring

70% official URL week view-gain (Addis week) + 30% same-week Ethiopia chart streams, with Kworb ET as geo-proxy input, not brand. Floor: prior official week or lookback premiere plus official classification. Tie-break: gain, cumulative views, premiere date, then A–Z artist.

Until official URL pulls stabilize: “provisional — Kworb/YeneVibe proxy + manual Official pass.”

Freeze

Publish → freeze; no silent rewrite. Errors require a dated Corrections log and optional Restatement marked as such.
