Admas plays “Anchi Bale Game” live on Fabrica’s Low End Theory

Anchi Bale Game by Admas, official live performance video still

Admas, the Ethiopian band behind the 1984 album Sons of Ethiopia, plays the album’s opening track, Anchi Bale Game, in a live video that Fabrica posted on its YouTube channel on Oct 27, 2026. It comes from Fabrica’s series Low End Theory, and lets listeners hear the band play a record that grew a new audience after its reissue.

The video runs 7 minutes 20 seconds. Fabrica posted the full Low End Theory episode with Admas on Oct 18: 46 minutes of conversation and performances of Anchi Bale Game, Tez Alegn Yetintu and Wed Enate.

The album

All three songs are on Sons of Ethiopia, which Admas self-released in Washington, D.C. in 1984. Frederiksberg Records reissued it on July 27, 2020, licensed from the band. The label’s notes say its music “was never performed live” at the time.

Credits

The episode credits Abegasu Shiota (keys and synths), Henock Temesgen (bass), Teddy Ahadoo (keys), Girum Mezmur (guitar) and Andinet Kebede (drums). Shiota and Temesgen are two of the three core members named in the reissue notes. Exodus Getahun recorded the music, Eyuel Belay mixed and mastered it, and Firehiwot Berhane directed. Fabrica made the series with Qene Films.
